South Korea: Visa Application in HK
First Order of Business: South Korea Visa
I thought of blogging about my South Korea visa application before jumping on to my recent Korea trip. South Korea tourist visa application for people based in Hong Kong is very fast and easy.

Embassy Location: 5/F, Far East Finance Centre, 16 Harcourt Road, Hong Kong
Direction: The building is opposite to Exit B of the Admiralty Station – go up one floor and take the elevator to the 5th floor.
Requirements:
- Photocopy of your passport
- Passport
- Photocopy of your working visa
- Photocopy of your HKID
- Latest bank statement with at least 20,000.00 HKD balance (Note that they require a statement with your name and account number, not just the transaction summary – a printout from your online account is acceptable and they only need the latest month)
- Completely filled-out application form (if some parts are not applicable to you, put “N/A” instead of leaving it blank)
- Passport size photo (Note that you have to paste it in the application form yourself)
- Some passport holders may be required to pay.
Releasing: Once your application is deemed complete, they will give you a claim stub with the date when you can get your visa. It’s usually a week after the application date. Do note that you have to leave your passport and collect it on the scheduled pick-up date.
Online Check: If you’re as excited as I was, you can check the status online after 3 days – just go to the “Check Application Status” of the Korea Visa Portal.

Once approved, you are good to go!
Schedules:
- The Visa application is from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon on a business day.
- Visa Collection is from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm on a business day.
